Annotated threads
Twitter thread examples, marked up in pencil
A good thread is a structure, not a mood. These six threads were written by us for hypothetical AI products. Every post has a margin note explaining what it does, and each one ends with a skeleton you can reuse.
The origin story thread
Give strangers a reason to follow the founder, not the product.
Thread 02The weekly build in public update
Keep followers watching the story and collect product input in public.
Thread 03The how it works technical thread
Earn credibility with technical buyers who distrust marketing.
Thread 04The problem first thread
Attract the exact buyer by describing their day better than they could.
Thread 05The lessons learned thread
Get bookmarked and reposted by people outside your circle.
Thread 06The waitlist open thread
Convert the audience you built into a list you can reach on launch day.
How to use these
Pick the thread that matches where you are. Origin story and problem first threads belong early, when nobody knows you. How it works and lessons threads come once the product runs. The waitlist thread comes last, three or four weeks before launch.
For the writing itself, read play 03 on writing a thread that sells an AI product. For when to post each one, see the 30 day calendar.
